Canadian Thanksgiving in South Africa

I made the pumpkin spice cookies. Dylan made everything else! His momma taught him well! He even made the stuffing himself! Since having Thanksgiving dinner just the two of us seemed a bit sad and pathetic (we can't help being the only Canucks on the base), we invited some of our friends to join in. It was a very international Thanksgiving, but Dylan was sure to play some Gordon Lightfoot (look, he's from Red Deer the poor boy, so let's not be too hard on him), and we sang the national anthem for them, though not very well... It was cool to watch Angeline and Loy eat pumpkin pie for the first time, a vital part of Thanksgiving for us Northerners. They seemed to like it... And to end off the evening, Dylan even bought some Kilkenny which we savoured while dreaming of the Great White North.

Props for pumkin pie proselytizing people !

My dad interviewed Gordon Lightfoot once back when Gordo was cool and my dad was a DJ. Apparently Mr. Lightfoot's a real jerk. You've been warned, so don't invite him to future African Thanksgivings.

Happy Late Thanksgiving Nicole.

Hey, can Dylan come and make "everything else" here next year??? think about it! No really. Did you guys really eat a Thanksgiving Durkey? I'm serious. Don't say anything right away, just... ponder it ... yah. Ponder. like ponderosa, but no "osa" of course. And hey, nice pants. Oh and don't tell Dylan about the plan, or the durkey. I mean, you can tell Dylan about the durkey (well, except that that might give away the plan) just don't tell the plan to the durkey. ... if triptyphan from TUrkey makes you sleepy and trippy, do durkies have driptyphan, and does it make you drippy? ... think about it [turn head slightly to side, raise eyebrows, nod]
