The Things I Do For My Sistahs

Yo! The west side gang is off the hook! Ayeight?!

So, I decided to start a gang here in my 'hood. I got some mean 2 year olds (and a very large "dolly") to back me up and fight off all the other evil gangs threatening to take over our block. NO ONE'S gonna mess with this pack! Not even the throngs of Bucks across the street!

Whatchyo' back!

The Beerpriest

Please, please, please, check out the link to my pastor, Rob Scott's, blog.
I have the weirdest, funniest, greatest pastor EVER! Be sure to leave any crazy, odd, even mildly disturbing comments you'd like cuz I'm sure he'll top them somehow! I keep thinking this is the best way to get back at him for all his brotherly harassment, but I can't beat the beerpriest. Who can beat the beerpriest???

Run, Forest, Run

I like to run. Ok, well, maybe leisurly jog is more like it. Outdoors, fresh air, sunlight, clear head, healthy heart blah, blah, blah.

But now, my friend thinks I should train with her to run the 10 k Mother's Day Race in May. 10 k? I don't even have a clue as to how far I run now, so I have no way of knowing if I'm anywhere near capable of running that far! Right now, I just run whenever I feel like it and stop whenever I get tired or bored; for this race I have to run 3-4 times a week for a good 2 months!

I was never the super athletic type. In fact, apart from dance classes, I was never the athletic type Period! Ah what the heck! It's only running! As long as I got my tunes!!

So what have I been doing lately? Well, unfortunately my life is just not that exciting right now. I mean not anything exciting in a way that merits a blog entry. Maybe a bunch of little things all together in one blog will make my faithful readers' hearts race! Or maybe just smile...

*My sister is pregnant! I'm gonna be an auntie!

*I now nanny two mornings a week for my friends Rob and Stacey. They have two year old twin daughters and they crack me up!

*Michelle gave me her new David Crowder Band CD cuz it was too eclectic for her but I LOVE it! Listening to it now...ahhhh

*At church we started Alpha, a series for people exploring Christianity. I really like it and it's exciting to have some new people

*I went to the first Worship Arts Community evening some friends of mine started up, a week and a half ago. It was SO refreshing and healing

*I googled some YWAM bases just for kicks and discovered YWAM Sudan has an HIV/AIDS ministry. Hmmmm....

*For Lent I am going to wake up at 6:30 every morning to spend time with Jesus. Whatever that turns out to be. Praying, singing, listening, going for walks...

*Tomorrow is Family Day here and I am actually going to spend time with my whole family! I'm not going to be working at the museum on the last day for Petra: Lost City of Stone!! Halleluia!

Hope that catches you all up a bit. Like I said, not all that exciting, but I bet some time from now, I will look back on these days and be thankful for the constancy of life at the moment...

Making The Day Great

What a perfect way to start the day. More breakfast in one meal than I've eaten in a week of breakfasts, coffee, and good, good conversation with my girl Lana. It is so sweet to have had so many opportunities this week to connect on a deeper, spiritual level with some of my dearest sisters. I needed that.

Lana gave me a good idea for avoiding falling into the everyday routine here. Write a list of things I really value; things that make a day good, however simple, however complicated, and incorporate at least one into each day. Well, today is covered because I realize one of the things I value is connecting with people one on one on a level that I can't even really describe. But it lifts my spirit and allows me to walk out into the big, scary world, and not feel so alone or scared. So, thanx Lana, thank you becca and thank you Shannon! I love you girls!
